January 2026, I had the opportunity to travel with Medical Missions Outreach to Lome, Togo. Through a week of clinic, our team of 12 members were able to see 803 patients. I was able to see 60 of those and provide individual evaluations and treatments for orthopedic and neurological issues as an athletic trainer. While some patients had generalized complaints, many were battling both painful physical and spiritual needs. Of those 803 patients, 187 made a decision for Christ and all were connected to a local church. It is always an amazing experience to witness God's goodness in a new culture, surrounded by people that may not look like me, but are all loved by our Creator. I never had any interest in missions while growing up, in fact, I had a hard heart and an unwilling spirit when it came to the idea. But the Lord has been so gracious in the ways He has called me to seek the lost. I became an athletic trainer in 2024 and it has been so easy to see the Lord's hand in directing me into the profession. To be able to take that education and the skills acquired in my job in the US and be able to provide similar services to patients around the world, that otherwise do not have medical care, is such a joy. I am so humbled that the Lord would use me as an avenue for others to hear the Gospel.
