This trip was like no other. I was scheduled to participate in another team previously in 2025 in which due to outside factors had to be cancelled. I prayed for guidance on what this meant for me and what I should do next. My heart wanted to serve but I wanted to do it where I was meant to. After prayer and consideration, I decided to join the team to Lome. While this was a new destination for the organization and a much smaller team than they normally take, I felt like I could make a big impact.
This held very true. The people of Togo are known as the forgotten people and you could feel the despair in their stories and feel it when you spoke to them. They were disheartened, discouraged and simply broken both physically and spiritually. They were thirsty for hope and healing.
While we provided temporary relief from their physical ailments through medical care, the connection to the church and to the all mighty healer is ultimately what brought healing and joy back to their souls.
During our time in Togo we saw 803 patients. 187 of those patients prayed to receive Jesus as their savior. In a country filled with witch craft, sorrow and despair, this is such a large step toward true peace for the Togaise people.
I am so thankful and blessed for the opportunity I had to serve in Togo and share the gospel and power of healing that can only be had through a relationship with Jesus.
During my time in Togo, my heart was touched in many ways. While it was difficult to witness the hardships they face every hour of every day, it was comforting to know that we have the ability to share hope and loved with them through Christ.
