Serving in The Gambia – Medical Mission Trip
I recently had the life-changing opportunity to serve in The Gambia, Africa, on a medical mission trip—an experience that deeply touched my heart. I want to express my sincere and heartfelt thanks to Upward Twist for their incredible generosity, which made this journey possible. Because of your support, I was able to bring ultrasound services—a rarity in this region—to people who desperately needed them.
In The Gambia, a country where approximately 98% of the population is Muslim and where medical resources are limited, being able to perform ultrasounds was both a privilege and a miracle. We were able to detect conditions that would have otherwise gone unnoticed, offer reassurance to expectant mothers, and provide life-saving information to patients. The gratitude in their eyes was overwhelming—it reminded me how something so routine for us can mean everything to someone else.
But beyond the medicine, something even greater happened: seeds were planted. Through love, prayer, and compassionate care, many had their first encounter with Christians and the message of Jesus. We didn’t go to preach, but to serve—and in doing so, we shared the heart of Christ in a way that words alone never could. I believe God is watering those seeds even now.
To Upward Twist—thank you from the bottom of my heart. Your support extended far beyond physical needs. It opened doors for hope, healing, and the Gospel in a place where hearts are hungry for truth. You were part of every touch, every smile, and every moment of impact. May God continue to bless you all abundantly.
With deepest gratitude,
Cadie
